In the revenue cycle, it is important to know the billed denial revenue, the number of denial remits, and the denial rate. Clients have their own goals and metrics, so the design needed to be clear, concise, and quick to access.
In partnership with denial analytics, we added highlights for adjustments and denials by procedure callouts. This came about from user testing and research.

Claim Processing
The Claims dashboard is where clients can see all claims. We included a robust search feature on the left so that finding claims is quicker, thus speeding up claim processing.
A claim includes the claim number, patient name, service date, codes, payer, charges, status of claim, rendering provider, and WorkGroup. We added this dashboard so that users can edit a claim pending any new information, view the original claim, archive, copy, and use many other useful tools in the claim processing cycle within the window, cutting down on claim tracking.
A New Look
During the course of my time, we knew an updated design refresh was in the near future. At the same time, we didn’t want to overhaul the layout, as the users were familiar with it.
The plan became how to update with minimal interruption to the interface layout. Curved bezels and lighter, brighter colors were used as the most impactful tools. It also unified designs between the patient and claim side of the software.
