Sri Ganesh Hindu Temple

Set amid a constellation of architectural landmarks in Columbus, Indiana, the proposed design responds with humility, strength, and purpose. Surrounded by the quiet grandeur of First Christian Church (Eliel Saarinen), the Bartholomew County Library (I.M. Pei), and the County Courthouse, the new structure must rise to meet a legacy of integrity without overshadowing it. Rather than mimicking traditional Hindu forms, the design embraces a neutral, inclusive architectural language, one that honors the spiritual diversity of Hindu worshipers and invites each sect to feel seen and welcome. At its heart, the building becomes a sacred journey: a movement from shadow to light, from collective to personal, offering worshippers a peaceful ascent into what can only be described as God’s living room: a sanctuary of light, openness, and profound serenity.
